This section describes the Support Software that is used to set up the EtherNet/IP Slave Terminal.
The following Support Software can be used to set up the EtherNet/IP Slave Terminal.
However, if you use an NX-series Safety Control Unit, the Sysmac Studio is required even if the Ether-
Net/IP master is a CS/CJ/CP-series CPU Unit, Sysmac Gateway, or PLC from another company.
This section describes the method and procedures that are used to connect the Support Software to an
EtherNet/IP Slave Terminal. The Sysmac Studio is connected to a USB port of an EtherNet/IP Coupler
Unit as an example. For Support Software other than the Sysmac Studio, refer to the operation manual
for the Support Software that you are using.
 Connection Methods
You can place the Support Software online with the EtherNet/IP Slave Terminal. Connect the Sup-
port Software to the USB port on the EtherNet/IP Coupler Unit.
 Connection Procedure
Use the following procedure to place the Support Software online.
1 Connect the EtherNet/IP Coupler Unit to a computer in which the Support Software is installed
through a USB cable.
2 Create a new project with the following settings.
Category: Slave terminal
Device: EtherNet/IP coupler
Refer to 9-2-2 Setting the NX Unit Configuration Information on page 9-7 for the procedures to
create the Unit configuration information.
3 Right-click the EtherNet/IP Coupler Unit in the Edit EtherNet/IP Slave Terminal Configuration
Tab Page, and select Coupler Connection (USB)
− Online. Or, right-click the EtherNet/IP Cou-
pler Unit in the Multiview Explorer and select Coupler Connection (USB)
− Online.
A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
4 Click the OK button.
The Sysmac Studio goes online with the EtherNet/IP Slave Terminal.
