Connecting Power to the IntelliFlo Pump
TheIntelliFlopumpisdesignedtobepermanentlyconnectedtoitspowersource.Typicallythepumpreceives
powerdirectlyfromthecircuitbreaker.Nocontactorormotorstarterisrequired.Thedrivecontrolsthe
startingandstoppingofthepump.IftheIntelliFlopumpisconnectedtoanautomationsystem,suchasthe
EasyTouchPL4/PSL4ControlSystem,thedrivemustbepowereduptoreceiveandrespondtotheRS-485
serialcommunicationfromtheautomationsystem.However,thepumpcanbeoperatedin“stand-alone”
mode,startingandstoppingwhenpowerisappliedorremoved.Whenthedrivepowersupitwillreturnto
themodeandrunstatusthatitwasinwhenpowerwasremoved.Thissetupisappropriateifyouneedtouse
existingrelaysortimers.
Assigning an IntelliFlo VS 3050 pump address
BeforeassigningapumpaddressattheEasyTouchPL4/PSL4Control
Systemindoor,wirelessoroutdoorcontrolpanel,rstsettheaddresson
the pump itself.Thepump'sdefaultaddressispump#1.
ToassignanIntelliFloVS3050pumpaddress:
1. BesurethatthepumpispoweredonandthegreenpowerLED
ison.
2. PresstheStop buttonstostopthepump.
3. PressandholdboththeStart and Stop buttonsuntilthered
LEDwillstartsashing,thenpressoneofthefourspeed
buttons(1-4)toselectwhichaddresstoassignthepump.For
example,ifyouareassigningthepumpaspump#1,thenpress
Speedbuttonnumber1.
4. PressandholdboththeStart and Stop buttonstosavethe
address.Repeattheprocessfortheotherpumps.
NOTE: INTELLIFLO IN “SERVICE MODE” - IntelliFlo pumps will STOP when the system is in ‘Service” mode.
NOTE: INTELLIFLO “FREEZE” PROTECTION - If the IntelliFlo pump is on due to a freeze condition (not switch
on from a relay circuit), and if a freeze protect for a certain speed is set, this setting takes priority even if the
previous setting is lower than the default circuit speed. If no “freeze” protection is set, the pump will be forced on
at the default circuit speed. Any programmed or manual operation that actually switches on a circuit, will cause the
pump to run at that speed if it is higher.
