How to drain the coolant circuit
Warning!
• Do not drain the coolant while the
engine is still hot and the system is under
pressure because dangerous hot coolant
can be discharged.
• Discard used coolant in a safe place
and in accordance with local regulations.
1. Remove the ller cap of the coolant
circuit.
2. Remove the drain plug (A1) from the
side of the cylinder block and the drain
plug (B1) from the pipe into the coolant
pump. Ensure that the drain holes are not
restricted.
3. After the system has been drained, t
the ller cap and the drain plugs.
4. Fasten a label in a suitable place to
indicate that the coolant system has been
drained.
Caution: The closed circuit system cannot
be drained completely. If the coolant is
drained for engine preservation purposes
or for protection from frost, the coolant
system must be lled again with an
approved antifreeze mixture. See “Coolant
specication” in section 5 for details of the
correct coolant to be used in the circuit.
Engines tted with keel coolers
The coolant capacity and the method used
to drain the coolant circuit of an engine
connected to a keel cooler will vary in
different applications.
Use the instructions given by the keel
cooler manufacturer to drain and renew
the engine coolant when a keel cooler is
tted.

Pericolo!
• Non scaricare il liquido refrigerante
quando il motore è ancora caldo e
l’impianto è sotto pressione dato che si
potrebbe avere la pericolosa fuoriuscita di
liquido bollente.
• Smaltire il liquido refrigerante usato
in un luogo sicuro e rispettando la
legislazione vigente.
1. Togliere il tappo di rifornimento del
circuito di raffreddamento.
2. Togliere il tappo di scarico (A1) dal lato
del monoblocco e il tappo di scarico (B1)
dalla tubazione nella pompa del liquido
refrigerante. Accertarsi che i fori di scarico
non siano intasati.
3. Dopo aver scaricato l’impianto, inlare il
tappo di rifornimento e quelli di scarico.
4. Legare un’etichetta in un punto idoneo
per indicare che l’impianto del liquido
refrigerante è stato scaricato.
Attenzione: L’impianto a circuito chiuso
non può essere scaricato completamente.
Se il liquido refrigerante viene scaricato
ai ni della preservazione del motore
o come protezione contro il gelo,
l’impianto di raffreddamento deve essere
riempito nuovamente con una miscela di
antigelo di tipo raccomandato. Vedere
“Caratteristiche tecniche del liquido
refrigerante” alla sezione 5 per ulteriori
informazioni sul tipo corretto da usare nel
circuito.
Motori dotati di raffreddatori della
carena
La capacità del liquido refrigerante e il
metodo usato per far scolare il circuito di
raffreddamento di un motore collegato a
un raffreddatore della carena è diverso
sulle varie applicazioni.
Seguire le istruzioni impartite dal
fabbricante del raffreddatore della
carena per far scolare e sostituire il
liquido refrigerante motore quando vi è in
dotazione un raffreddatore della carena.

Waarschuwing!
• Tap de koelvloeistof niet af wanneer de
motor nog heet is en het systeem onder
druk staat omdat anders gevaarlijke, hete
koelvloeistof kan vrijkomen.
• Gooi de afgewerkte koelvloeistof weg
in overeenstemming met de ter plaatse
geldende voorschriften.
1. Verwijder de vuldop van het koelcircuit.
2. Verwijder de aftapplug (A1) uit de
zijkant van het cilinderblok en de aftapplug
(B1) van de warmtewisselaar. Zorg
ervoor dat de aftapopeningen niet zijn
geblokkeerd.
3. Breng de vuldop en de aftappluggen
aan wanneer het systeem is afgetapt.
4. Bevestig op een geschikte plaats een
label waarop staat aangegeven dat het
koelsysteem is afgetapt.
Voorzichtig: Het gesloten koelsysteem
kan niet volledig worden afgetapt.
Wanneer de koelvloeistof wordt afgetapt
voor het behoud van de motor of ter
bescherming tegen vorst, dient het
koelvloeistofsysteem te worden gevuld
met een goedgekeurd antivriesmengsel.

voor informatie over de juiste koelvloeistof
voor het circuit.
Motoren uitgerust met kielkoelers
De koelvloeistofcapaciteit alsmede de
methode die wordt toegepast om het
koelvloeistofcircuit af te tappen van
een motor die is aangesloten op een
kielkoeler, varieert afhankelijk van de
verschillende toepassingen.
Raadpleeg de instructies van de fabrikant
van de kielkoeler voor het aftappen
en verversen van de koelvloeistof van
een motor wanneer een kielkoeler is
gemonteerd.
