How to renew the element of
the fuel lter
Warning! Discard the used canister and
fuel oil in a safe place and in accordance
with local regulations.
Caution: It is important that only the
genuine Perkins parts are used. The use
of wrong parts could damage the fuel
injection equipment.
1. Thoroughly clean the outside surfaces
of the fuel lter assembly.
2. Loosen the drain device (A4) at the
bottom of the lter canister and drain the
fuel into a suitable container.
3. Use a strap wrench or similar tool to
loosen the lter canister. Remove the lter
canister.
4. Ensure that the threaded adaptor (A1)
is secure in the lter head and that inside
lter head is clean
Caution: Some fuel lters tted in the
factory have a special sealant applied
to the threads of th adaptor. Fuel lters
supplied in service have an inner seal
assembly (A2) instead. The seal is held
in position by a plastic clip. Damage to
the fuel injection pump may occur if the
canister seals are not tted correctly.
5. Lubricate lightly the two top seals (A2)
and (A3) of the new canister with clean
fuel. Fit the new canister t o the lter head
and tighten by hand 1/2 to 3/4 turn.

page 43.
Come sostituire la cartuccia del
ltro del combustibile
Pericolo! Smaltire la cartuccia e l’olio
usato in un luogo sicuro e conformemente
alla legislazione vigente.
Attenzione: È importante usare solo parti
di ricambio originali Perkins. L’impiego
di parti sbagliate potrebbe danneggiare
l’apparato di iniezione.
1. Pulire a fondo le superci esterne del
ltro.
2. Allentare il dispositivo di scarico
(A4) alla base della cartuccia del ltro e
scaricare il combustibile in un contenitore
adatto.
3. Usare una chiave a nastro o un
attrezzo simile per allentare la cartuccia
del ltro. Rimuovere la cartuccia del ltro.
4. Controllare che l’adattatore lettato
(A1) sia saldo nella testa del ltro e che
l’interno della testa sia pulito
Attenzione: Alcune delle cartucce del
ltro del combustibile montate in fabbrica
hanno uno speciale sigillante applicato sui
letti dell’adattatore. I ltri del combustibile
forniti in assistenza hanno invece una
tenuta interna (A2). La tenuta viene ssata
in posizione da una fascetta di plastica. La
pompa di iniezione può subire danni se le
tenute delle cartucce non sono montate
correttamente.
5. Lubricare leggermente le due tenute
superiori (A2) e (A3) della nuova cartuccia
con combustibile pulito. Avvitare la nuova
cartuccia sulla testa del ltro e serrare a
mano da 1/2 a 3/4 di giro.
6. Spurgare l’aria dal ltro del
combustibile, vedere pag. 43..
Vervangen van het
brandstoflterelement
Waarschuwing! Gooi het gebruikte
lter en de weggelekte brandstof weg
in overeenstemming met de ter plaatse
geldende voorschriften.
Voorzichtig: Er mogen uitsluitend
originele Perkins onderdelen worden
gebruikt. Bij gebruik van een verkeerd
element kan de brandstonspuitpomp
beschadigd raken.
1. Reinig de buitenoppervlakken van het
brandstoflter grondig.
2. Draai het aftapelement aan de
onderzijde van het lter (A4) los en laat
de brandstof weglopen in een geschikte
opvangbak.
3. Gebruik een bandsleutel of soortgelijk
instrument om het lterelement iets los te
draaien. Verwijder de lterhouder.
4. Zorg ervoor dat de adapter met
schroefdraad (A1) goed vastzit in de
lterkop en dat de binnenzijde van de kop
schoon is.
Voorzichtig: Sommige brandstoflter-
bussen die in de fabriek zijn aangebracht
hebben een adapter waarvan de
schroefdraad is voorzien van een
speciaal afdichtmiddel. Filterhouders die
naderhand worden geleverd hebben in
plaats daarvan een inwendige pakking
(A2). De pakking wordt door een plastic
klem op zijn plaats gehouden. Wanneer
de pakkingen van de houder niet goed zijn
aangebracht kan dit beschadiging van de
brandstonspuitpomp veroorzaken.
5. Smeer de bovenste twee pakkingen
(A2) en (A3) van de nieuwe lterhouder
lichtjes met schone brandstof. Breng de
nieuwe houder aan op de lterkop en
draai deze met de hand 1/2 - 3/4 slag aan.
6. Laat de lucht uit het brandstoflter
ontsnappen, zie pagina 43.
