Engine preservation
Introduction
The recommendations indicated below are
designed to prevent damage to the engine
when it is withdrawn from service for a
prolonged period. Use these procedures
after the engine is withdrawn from
service. The instructions for the use of
POWERPART products are given on the
outside of each container.
Procedure
1. Completely clean the outside of the
engine.
2. When a preservative fuel is to be used,
drain the fuel system and ll it with the
preservative fuel. POWERPART Lay-Up 1
can be added to the normal fuel to change
it to a preservative fuel. If preservative fuel
is not used, the system can be completely
lled with normal fuel but the fuel must be
drained and discarded at the end of the
storage period together with the fuel lter
canister.
3. Operate the engine until it is warm.
Then correct leakages of fuel, lubricating
oil or air. Stop the engine and drain the
lubricating oil from the sump.
4. Renew the canister of the lubricating
oil lter.
5. Fill the sump to the full mark with
new and clean lubricating oil and add
POWERPART Lay-up 2 to the oil to
protect the engine against corrosion. If
POWERPART Lay-Up 2 is not available,
use a correct preservative uid instead of
the lubricating oil. If a preservative uid
is used, this must be drained and the
lubricating oil sump must be lled to the
correct level with normal lubricating oil at
the end of the storage period.
6. Drain the coolant circuit see page 32.
In order to protect the cooling system
against corrosion, ll it with an approved
antifreeze mixture because this gives
protection against corrosion see page 71.
Caution: If protection against frost is
not necessary and a corrosion inhibitor
is to be used, it is recommended that
you consult the Service Department,
Wimborne Marine Power Centre see page
7.
7. Operate the engine for a short period in
order to circulate the lubricating oil and the
coolant in the engine.
Preservazione del motore
Introduzione
Le raccomandazioni elencate di seguito
sono state redatte per prevenire danni al
motore quando non viene utilizzato per
un periodo prolungato. Seguire queste
procedure solo quando il motore non
è più in servizio. Le istruzioni per l’uso
dei prodotti POWERPART sono scritte
sull’esterno di ogni contenitore.
Procedura
1. Pulire a fondo la parte esterna del
motore.
2. Quando è necessario un gasolio
preservante, riempire con questo
l’impianto di alimentazione dopo aver
scaricato quello normale. Il prodotto
POWERPART Lay-Up 1 può essere
aggiunto al combustibile normale per
trasformarlo nel tipo preservante. Se
non viene usato un gasolio preservante,
l’impianto può essere riempito
completamente con combustibile normale
che deve però essere scaricato e
smaltito alla ne del periodo di inattività,
unitamente alla cartuccia del ltro del
combustibile.
3. Far riscaldare il motore. Riparare
eventuali perdite di combustibile, olio
lubricante o aria. Spegnere il motore e
scaricare l’olio lubricante dalla coppa.
4. Sostituire la cartuccia del ltro dell’olio
lubricante.
5. Riempire la coppa no al contrassegno
di massimo con olio lubricante
nuovo pulito e aggiungere il prodotto
POWERPART Lay-up 2 all’olio per
proteggere il motore dalla corrosione. Se
il prodotto POWERPART Lay-Up 2 non
è disponibile, usare un uido protettivo
corretto al posto dell’olio lubricante.
Se viene usato un uido protettivo,
ricordarsi di scaricarlo al termine del
periodo di inattività, riempiendo la coppa
no al corretto livello con olio lubricante
normale.
6. Scaricare il circuito di raffreddamento,
vedere pag. 32. Per proteggere l’impianto
di raffreddamento dalla corrosione,
riempirlo con una soluzione di liquido
antigelo che è in grado di prevenire anche
la corrosione, vedere pag. 71.
Attenzione: Se la protezione dal gelo
non serve ed è necessario usare un
inibitore della corrosione, si raccomanda
di consultare il reparto di assistenza,
Wimborne Marine Power Centre, vedere
pag. 7.
Behoud van de motor
Inleiding
1. Onderstaande aanbevelingen zijn er
om schade aan de motor te voorkomen
wanneer deze gedurende een langere
periode niet wordt gebruikt. Volg deze
procedures nadat de motor buiten bedrijf
is gesteld. De gebruiksaanwijzing voor
het gebruik van POWERPART producten
staat vermeld op de buitenkant van elk
van de blikken.
Procedure
1. Reinig de buitenzijde van de motor
grondig.
2. Wanneer er een
conserveringsbrandstof wordt gebruikt,
tap het brandstofsysteem af en vul
het met de conserveringsbrandstof.
Normale brandstof kan worden veranderd
in conserveringsbrandstof door
POWERPART Lay-Up 1 toe te voegen.
Wanneer geen conserveringsbrandstof
wordt gebruikt, kan het systeem volledig
worden gevuld met normale brandstof;
deze moet dan echter wel aan het einde
van de opslagperiode worden afgetapt en
samen met de brandstoflterelementen
worden weggegooid.
3. Laat de motor draaien tot deze op
bedrijfstemperatuur is. Verhelp vervolgens
eventuele lekkages van brandstof,
motorolie of lucht. Zet de motor af en tap
de motorolie uit het carter af.
4. Vervang het lterelement van het
olielter.
5. Vul het carter tot het “vol”-merkteken
met nieuwe en schone smeerolie en
voeg POWERPART Lay-up 2 toe om de
motor tegen corrosie te beschermen.
Wanneer er geen POWERPART Lay-Up
2 beschikbaar is, mag ook een goede
conserveringsvloeistof worden gebruikt
in plaats van motorolie. Wanneer
conserveringsvloeistof wordt gebruikt,
moet deze worden afgetapt aan het
einde van de opslagperiode en moet het
oliecarter tot het juiste niveau worden
gevuld met gewone motorolie.
6. Vul het koelvloeistofcircuit bij, see page
32. Om het koelsysteem te beschermen
tegen corrosie, dient dit te worden gevuld
met een goedgekeurd antivriesmengsel
omdat dit bescherming biedt tegen
corrosie, zie pagina 71.
