How to renew the lubricating
oil of the ZF-HSW 450A reverse
gearbox
Note: When the lubricating oil of the
reverse gearbox is renewed, the lter
element should also be renewed.
1. Turn the ller cap (A1) counter-
clockwise with a 6 mm Allen Key (A2) and
remove the cap together with the lter that
is tted to the cap.
2. As there is no drain plug, the
lubricating oil must be removed with a
pump (B1). Connect a hose (B2) to the
pump. Push the hose into the suction
tube (B3) and down to the bottom of the
housing. Operate the pump to remove the
lubricating oil; approximately 2,0 litres (3.3
pints) 2.1 US quarts.
Note: The outside diameter of the hose
must not be more than 16,0 mm (0.625
in).
3. Add 2,0 litres (3.3 pints) 2.1 US quarts
of ATF transmission uid, see Section 9.
4. Pull the lter element (A4) off the ller
cap. Fit the new ‘O’ rings (A2) and (A3)
and push a new lter element onto the
ller cap.
5. Fit the lter and ller cap assembly and
turn the Allen Key clockwise to fasten the
ller cap.
6. Turn the handle of the dipstick (C1)
counter-clockwise to release the dipstick.
Remove the dipstick. Clean the dipstick
and check the level of the lubricating oil.
The level should be between the minimum
and the maximum marks (C2). Add more
lubricating oil if necessary. Insert the
dipstick and turn the handle clockwise to
fasten it.

Nota: Quando l’olio lubricante
dell’invertitore viene cambiato, è
necessario sostituire anche l’elemento del
ltro.
1. Ruotare il tappo di rifornimento (A1) in
senso antiorario con una chiave a barra
esagonale da 6 mm (A2) e togliere il tappo
unitamente al ltro montato sul tappo
stesso.
2. Dato che non c’è tappo di scarico, l’olio
lubricante deve essere asportato con
una pompa (B1). Collegare un essibile
(B2) alla pompa. Spingere il essibile nel
tubo di aspirazione (B3) e verso la base
dell’alloggiamento. Azionare la pompa per
asportare l’olio lubricante, 2,0 litri circa.
Nota: Il diametro esterno del essibile non
deve essere superiore a 16,0 mm.
3. Aggiungere 2,0 litri di liquido per
cambio ATF, vedere la sezione 9.
4. Staccare l’elemento del ltro (A4)
dal tappo di rifornimento. Montare i
nuovi ‘O’ ring (A2) e (A3) e calzare un
nuovo elemento del ltro sul tappo di
rifornimento.
5. Montare il ltro e il tappo di rifornimento
e ruotare in senso orario la chiave a
barra esagonale per ssare il tappo di
rifornimento.
6. Ruotare l’impugnatura dell’astina
di livello (C1) in senso antiorario per
rilasciare l’astina. Slare l’astina di livello.
Pulirla e controllare il livello dell’olio
lubricante. Il livello deve essere tra
gli indici di minimo e massimo (C2).
Aggiungere dell’altro olio lubricante se
necessario. Inserire l’astina di livello e
ruotare l’impugnatura in senso orario per
ssarla..

Let op: Wanneer de smeerolie in de
keerkoppeling wordt ververst, dan dient
tevens het lterelement te worden
vervangen.
1. Draai de lterkap (A1) tegen de klok
in met een 6 mm inbussleutel (A2) en
verwijder de kap samen met het lter dat
daaraan is gemonteerd.
2. Aangezien er geen aftapplug is, moet
de smeerolie worden afgetapt met een
pomp (B1). Sluit een slang (B2) aan op
de pomp. Duw de slang in de zuigbuis
(B3), volledig tot op de bodem van
de behuizing. Bedien de pomp om de
smeerolie te verwijderen; ca. 2,0 l (3,3
pints) / 2,1 US quarts.
Let op: De buitendiameter van de slang
mag niet groter zijn dan 16,0 mm (0,625
in).
3. Vul 2,0 l (3,3 pints) / 2,1 US quarts ATF
transmissievloeistof bij; zie ook sectie 9.
4. Trek het lterelement (A4) van de de
vuldop. Breng de nieuwe O-ringen (A2) en
(A3) aan en duw een nieuw lterelement
op de vuldop.
5. Breng het lter en de vuldop aan en
draai de inbussleutel met de klok mee om
de vuldop aan te halen.
6. Draai de hendel van de peilstok
(C1) tegen de klok in om de peilstok
te ontgrendelen. Verwijder de peilstok.
Reinig de peilstok en controleer het
smeeroliepeil. De smeerolie dient tussen
de min. en max.-merktekens (C2) te
staan. Vul olie bij indien nodig. Plaats de
peilstok terug en draai de hendel met de
klok mee om de peilstok te vergrendelen.
