Scan Mode
Tells the scanner what type of documents you are scanning. The following options
are available from the drop-down list:
scans in black and white and is suitable for scanning text.
scans in 256 shades of gray, giving black and white images depth
scans in millions of colors (24-bit) but takes up a lot of memory.
scans in standard 256 colors. The image quality of its
resulted image is inferior than that of "24-bit Color", but its data size is smaller.
Choose this mode if you want to scan color documents but care more on the file
-- use this setting if you want the scanner to detect the scan mode
(This function may or may not be available depending on the
scanner model you purchase.)

Document Type
This function allows you to select the type of content on the scanned documents for
better scanning results. The following options are available from the drop-down
Use this setting to process the scanned document when other image
enhancement functions are adjusted. This option allows you to customize the
image setting parameters for your current needs. If you select this option and
don't modify any image setting, the previous image settings will be applied.
