TIGRIS System Operators Manual i-1
Volume I: Operating the Instrument Part # 902649EN Rev. A
This index of terms provides definitions of abbreviations, acronyms, and terminology specific to the
subject matter of this manual, as well as page references to sections where each term is used.
Acridinium Ester. A molecule used as a label
that creates a chemiluminescent reaction
during HPA. A luminometer detects the light
signal from this reaction during DKA. p. 1-20
Activity Log. The activity log tracks the actions
performed by operators while logged into their
operator accounts. Volume III
AE. See Acridinium Ester.
Alarm. An audible “beep” that alerts an
operator about new messages on the
Messages
screen. Volume III
AMP. Amplification.
Amplification Incubator. Heats the MTU to
the correct temperature during the amplification
step of TMA. p. 1-19
Amplification Pipettor. Transfers Amplification
Reagent from the AR Bay to the MTU in the
mixer. Transfers Enzyme Reagent from the AR
Bay to the MTU in the Amplification Incubator.
p. 1-19
Amplification Reagent. Contains the
oligonucleotide primers that help Reverse
Transcriptase and RNA Polymerase create
copies of the target RNA/DNA during TMA.
pp. 1-19, 2-20
Anneal Incubator. A temperature controlled
incubator where nucleic acid annealing prior to
Amplification takes place. p. 1-19
AR. See Assay Reagents.
AR Bay. The region in the Upper Bay where
ARs (except TCR) are loaded and pipetted.
p. 1-12
AR Carousel. Holds up to four matched sets of
ARs. p. 1-12
AR Carousel Cover. Protects uncovered ARs
loaded into the AR Carousel. p. 1-12
AR Door. External door to the AR Bay. p. 1-12
AR Set. A set of five PROCLEIX
®
TIGRIS
System Assay Reagents (TCR, Amplification,
Enzyme, Probe, and Selection) that are
grouped into a matched set. p. 2-22
Assay Reagents. Amplification Reagent,
Enzyme Reagent, Probe Reagent, Selection
Reagent, TCR, and Target Enhancer Reagent
(PROCLEIX
ULTRIO
Plus
®
Assay only) used in
assay processing.
p. 2-20
Assay Reagent Status Report. Contains the
capacity, stability, and expiration information for
all matched sets of ARs in the current Master
Lot. p. 6-2
Auto Detect 1. Dispensed during Detection
step of HPA to react with AE to produce a light
signal. pp. 1-20, 2-12
Auto Detect 2. Dispensed during Detection
step of HPA to react with AE to produce a light
signal. pp. 1-20, 2-12
Barcode. A label containing encoded
information on a sample tube, sample rack, AR
bottle, MTU, or fluid bottle. p. 1-22
Carousel Worklist. An operator-defined
worklist that is automatically populated with
samples when the Sample Barcode Scanner
scans the barcodes on loaded sample racks
and their sample tubes. p. 3-3
Chiller Ramps. Modules within the PROCLEIX
TIGRIS System where the temperature of the
MTU is cooled prior to insertion into the
luminometer. p. 1-20
Control. See PROCLEIX
®
TIGRIS Control.
Control Bracketing. Process where multiple
sets of controls are included at specified
positions in a worklist so that worklist results
