Configuring the LIS
The PROCLEIX
®
TIGRIS System LIS interface allows for unidirectional file transfer of results
from the instrument to middleware software or a laboratory information system. The system
administrator must configure the PROCLEIX
®
TIGRIS System software according to the site
setup before results can be transmitted.
To configure the LIS:
1. If the LIS Configuration button is not enabled on the Configuration
screen, click Stop in
the LIS Control
panel. The status changes from “Idle” to “Stopped.”
2. On the Configuration
tab of the Configuration screen, click LIS Configuration....
An LIS Configuration
window and Export Path window open.
3. Click OK to exit the Export Path
window.
4. In the LIS Configuration
window, select either Export File or ASTM 1381/1394 as desired,
then configure accordingly as follows:
Export File Configuration
a) Enter one of the following export paths in the Set New Export Path field.
♦ To save LIS data to the PROCLEIX
®
TIGRIS System computer hard drive, enter
“C:\TIGRIS\Export.”
♦ To save LIS data to the CD-RW drive, enter “D:\.”
ASTM 1381/1394 Configuration
a) From the drop-down menus, select values for the following:
♦ Baud Rate
♦ Data Bits
♦ Parity
♦ Stop Bits
b) Do not check the box for Show Patient Name in Test Request as Patient ID—
Test Requests are not supported for the PROCLEIX
®
Assays.
5. Use the check boxes at the bottom of the screen to set transmission options:
♦ Auto Transmit Results – automatically transmits bracketed worklist results as they
become available.
Note: The PROCLEIX
®
TIGRIS System workstation will be set up on a local workgroup by
a Novartis Diagnostics Service Representative, not on a domain. For information about
accessing LIS files from the PROCLEIX TIGRIS System workstation over a network
connection, please contact Novartis Diagnostics Technical Service.
Note: The purpose of the Start and Stop buttons is to control the transmission of
LIS files from the PROCLEIX
®
TIGRIS System computer to an export location. The
status must be “Stopped” to set the export location.
Note: The Auto Transmit Results option is only available when the export
path is set to the hard drive.
