arms and blades.

a suitable cl

nt
possible damage
to
the paint
work

3 Usi

a screwdriver, from
which
all the
sharp edges have been removed, ease the ends
of
the fillerstrip from the windscreen
weatherstrip.

With
the aid
of
an assistant,
wo
rking outside
the
vehicl
e,
apply hand pressure
to
the inside
of
the screen
while
easing
down
the
lip
of
the
weatherstrip
to
re
l
ease
the screen.
5 Remove windscreen from the
vehicle and
place on a bench protected by cloth
or
felt
to
avoid
sc
ratchi
ng
the glass.

6 Examine the weatherstrip
for
signs
of
deterioration a

new

To
replace

1 Fit the weatherstrip
to
the lip of the
windscreen aperture, positioning the rubber so
that the
joi
nt
will
finish half
way
up
the 'A' post.
Note:
If a n
ew
weatherstrip is being fitted,
it
sbould be
cut
at
least 25·4mm
(1
·Oin} oversize.

s of the overlap can be forced back
until a t
ight
butt
joint
is formed.
2 The windscreen can n
ow
be fitted by
inserting a co
rn
er
into
the weatherstrip and
progressively easing the
lip
of
the weatherstrip
over the
glass
with
a soft tapered piece
of
dowelin
g.
3 Using a suitable roller tool insert the filler
strip, the
joint
of
which
should be on the
opposite 'A' post
to
that
of
the weatherstrip.
If the origtnal filler
st
rip is used it should be
stretched
s

tly
before fitting.
