Heating and ventilation system

Description
The heater is
of
the fresh
ai
r type and is
mounted on the body in the forward end
of
the
engine compartment.
Water from the main cool
an
t system is fed to a
control valve on the heat
er
via a hose from the
cylinder head. Warm air is produced and forced
by
an
electric fan
to
the
wi
ndscreen demister
vents and adjustable
footwa
ll
outlets via flexible
9ucting tubes.
Fo
r the summer months the heater
ca
n
be
shut
off
from the main system to provide a cool air
s
up
pl
y,
by means
of
the co
ntr
ol
valve operated
by a knob on the fascia.
In addi
tio
n, an adjustable fr
es
h air vent is located
on the centre
of
the fascia
to
provide a constant
cool air suppl
y,
if
required.

To remove heater (see Figure 1)
1 Slacken retaining clips and remove water
inlet a
nd
ou
tlet
hoses from heater
un
it. There
w ill be a sli
ght
water loss during this operation.
2 Disconnect
footwall, demister and fr
esh
air
duct
ing tubes from heater.
3 Slacken trunnion and cable support clamp
and disconnect heater control cable from water
control valve.
4 Disconnect heater leads.
5 Unscr

Note position
of
battery lead clips.

Rep
lace in reverse order and top
up
the
cooling system,
if
necessary.
