Optional extras Section V
2 Raise the speaker box and disconnect the
red/black lead at snap connector.
3 Remove
four
nuts, lockwashers and plain
washers and detach speaker from speaker box.
4
Replace in reverse order.
Radio
suppression
Four radio suppressors are fitted, one linked
to
the
wiper
motor
wiring
underneath the fascia,
one secured
to
the coil mounting bracket and
connected
to
the
ignition side
of
the coil, one
secured
to
the L.H. speedometer clamp and
connected
to
the stablizer and one
built-in
to
the alternator slip ring end bracket and
connected
to
one
of
the regulator terminals.
In addition three suppression braids are used
linking heater control valve
mounting
to
radiator,
radiator
to
coil mounting bracket and coil
mounting
bracket
to
thermostat housing.
Radio
aerial
To
remove
1 From underneath the vehicle in
front
of
the
rear wheel arch disconnect aerial cable from
extension cable.
It
will
be necessary
to
remove
the insulation tape.
2 Prise rubber grommet from its
location in
the
body
and push aerial cable socket up
through grommet aperture.
3 For the
Saloon aerial remove single self
tapping screw supporting aerial stem
to
inner
body
at the vehicle
LH
rear quarter.
4 Retract
aerial, remove
two
locking nuts,
chrome spacer and nylon adjuster and
withdraw
aerial assembly, complete
with
cable
from underneath the vehicle.
5 To complete the removal
of
the Van aerial
unscrew aerial cable adaptor, complete
with
star washer, and small retaining
nut
and star
washer, securing aerial
to
the L.H. rear
of
the
body. Access
to
the aerial fixings can
be
gained
by
removing the rear
door
striker access
grommet.

Withdraw
aerial cable from underneath
the vehicle.
To
replace
1 Locate Saloon aerial in
body
mounting
and secure in position
with
nylon adjuster,
chrome spacer and
locknuts.
2 Secure aerial stem
to
interior
body
with
single self tapping screw.
3 To
replace Van aerial locate in
body
mounting
and secure in position
with
aerial
cable
adaptor and hexagon nut, complete
with
star washers. Refit
door
striker access grommet.
4 To
complete the refitting
of
both Saloon
and Van aerials route aerial cable over
wheelarch and thread through grommet
aperture. Refit grommet.
5 Connect
aerial cable
to
cable extension
and
thoroughly
bind the
joint
with
insulation
tape
to
make completely waterproof.
Aerial
cable
extension
The aerial cable extension is secured
underneath the vehicle along the
door
still
of
the vehicle by three
'P'
clips.
It
is then routed
up, forward
of
the
'A'
post, through a rubber
grommet and connected
to
the radio unit.
