3.5.7 ADJUSTING NIP BAND
You can check the nip band. By checking it, you see if the fusing unit is in a good
condition–especially, if the hot roller and pressure roller are correctly installed.
1. Activate the SP mode.
2. Select SP1-109-001.
3. Specify "1."
4. Press the OK key.
5. Press the
"
key. The copy mode is activated.
6. Place an OHP sheet on the by-pass tray.
7. Press the
"
key. The copier feeds the OHP sheet, and reserve it between the
hot roller and the pressure roller about 20 seconds.
8. Wait until the OHP sheet is output.
9. Press the
#
key.
10. Make sure SP1-109-001 is selected.
11. Specify "0."
12. Press the OK key.
13. Quit the SP mode.
You see an opaque stripe on the OHP sheet. This is the trace of the nip band. The
normal nip band is symmetrical the OHP sheet. Both ends are slightly thicker than
the center.
NOTE:
There is no specifications or standards for the nip band of this copier.
