5.13
Inserting I/O modules / motor starters and BU covers
Introduction
The I/O modules are plugged into the BaseUnits. They are self-coding and type-coded.
The BU covers are fitted to BaseUnits whose slots are not equipped with I/O modules.
BU covers are plugged onto BaseUnits whose slots have been reserved for future
expansion (as empty slots).
The BU covers for motor starters serve as touch protection covers for unoccupied slots.
The BU covers have a holder for the reference identification label on the inside. For future
expansion of the ET 200SP, remove the reference identification label from the holder and
insert it into the final I/O module.
It is not possible to attach a reference identification label to the BU cover itself.
There are three versions:
BU cover with a width of 15 mm
BU cover with a width of 20 mm
BU cover with a width of 30 mm (for motor starters)
Requirement
Refer to chapter "Application planning (Page 32)".
