Assigning the handwheel through the PPU
Precondition
Set MD14512[16].7 = 80 (default value: 0). With this setting, you can only assign the handwheel through the PPU.
Operating sequence (activating the handwheel control function on the PPU)
If this function is already active, skip the steps below and proceed directly to the operating sequence for assigning the
handwheel through the PPU.

Select the system data operating a
rea.
2.
Open the machine data window.
3.
Press this softkey to open the basic machine data list.
4.
Press this softkey to open the search field
and enter the machine data "14512".
5.
Confirm y
our entry with this softkey. Then the system starts searching automatically.
6.
Move the cursor to the input field for 14512[16].
7.
Enter the value "80".
8.
Confirm your entry.
9.
Press this vertical softkey to activate the value change. Note that the control sy
s
tem restarts
to accept the new value.
Operating sequence (assigning the handwheel through the PPU)
1.
Select the machining operating area.
2.
Press this key on the MCP.
3.
Press this key to open the extended menu.
4.
Open the handwheel assignment window.
5.
Select the handwheel to be assigned with the cursor keys in the following window. You can
assign a maximum of two ha
ndwheels.
