TheSimradSU90isalongrangeandlowfrequencyshndingsonarwitha360
degreescoverage.TheSU90isdesignedformediumandlargesizedshingvessels.It
wasoriginallydevelopedforpurseseiners,butexperiencehasproventhatitisalso
wellsuitablefortrawlers.
Ifhighperformanceisyournumber1criteriawhenchoosingasonar;suchaslongrange,
highresolution,narrowbeamsandhighsourcelevels,thisisyournaturalchoice.We
madenocompromisesduringthedesignoftheSU90.Ourgoalwassimplytomakethe
ultimatehighperformanceshndingsonar.
TheSU90isdesignedforshingvesselsofallsizes,bothpurseseinersandtrawlers.
Thecentreoperationalfrequencyis26kHz,butyoucanselectanyoperationalfrequency
from20to30kHzinstepsof1kHz.Thecylindricalmulti-elementtransducerallows
theomnidirectionalsonarbeamstobetiltedelectronicallyfrom-10to+60°in1°steps.
Thisallowsyoutoautomaticallytrackschoolsofsh,andtoobservethewholewater
volumearoundthevessel.Astabilizingsystemisincludedforelectronicpitchandroll
compensation.ComparedtotheSimradSX90,thenumberofchannelsisincreasedby
50%givingthesonaranevenbetterperformanceinselectivityandrange.
TheSU90providesanumberofstandardinterfacelinesforcommunicationwith
peripheraldevicesandsensors.Typicalinputsaregeographicalinformationfroma
positioningsystem,vesselspeedandcurrentheading.Bydefault,theSU90usesa
built-inmotionsensor.Forimprovedoperationalaccuracy,anexternalmotionreference
unit(MRU)canbeconnected.
