Startingatargettrack
Duringnormaloperation,someechoesareclearlymoreinterestingthanothers.Inmany
situationsspecicechoesmayberegardedastargets,anditcanbeusefultoreceive
continuousinformationaboutthelocation,speedandheadingofsuchtargets.Tosetup
theSU90toprovidesuchinformation,youcanstarttargettracking.
Context
AtargettrackpermitstheSU90toautomaticallycontrolthetiltandbearingbasedonthe
movementsofthechosentarget.Itlocksonthetargetdenedbyitsposition,heading
andspeed.Thetrackedtargetisregardedasanobject,anditisidentiedwithacircle
andtwolines.Thetwolinesreectthesizeofthecurrenttrackingarea.
ThephrasetargetisusedtoidentifyanechointheSU90presentationthatyou
wishtoactupon.Theechomaybefromamaterialitem,ashallow,reeforrock,
orfromsh,shschoolsormammals.Inmostcases,thetargetwillmoveand
continuouslychangeitspositionrelativetoyourownvessel.Y oumustdecide
whichechoesthatshallbeclassiedastargets,andwetheryoushallstartmanualor
automatictargettracking.
Thebearingandtiltsettingsareautomaticallyadjustedtofollowthemovementsofthe
trackedtarget.Thebearinglineisautomaticallylockedontheobjecttoreectsits
bearing.

Ifyouchangethetiltorbearingsettingsmanuallytheprioritystatusislost.TheSU90
willstillattempttotrackthetarget,butthetiltandbearingsettingsarenotadjusted.
