externalsensorsmustbeconnected.Typicalsensorsarethosethatprovidespeed,
headingandgeographicalposition.OntheSensorInstallationpageyoudene
whichexternalsensorsyourSU90willimportinformationfrom.Youmustalso
decidewhichdatagramformatsthatwillbeaccepted.Onceasensorhasbeen
chosen,youmustselecttheoffsetvaluesthatdenethesensor’sphysicallocation
relativetoyourvessel’scoordinatesystem.
–SensorConguration
WithseveralsensorsconnectedtotheSU90,manyofthemwillprovidethesame
datagrams.Wecannotexpectthatthedatagramsprovidethesameinformation.
TheSensorCongurationpageallowsyoutodeneadatagrampriority,sothat
theinformationfromthe"mostreliable"sensorisusedbytheSU90.Youcanalso
denemanualvaluesincaseasensorisunserviceable,ornotinstalled.

Inordertocommunicatewithperipheraldevices,theProcessorUnitoffersseveral
serialand/orEthernet(LAN)ports.Thenumberofcommunicationportsdepends
onhowyourProcessorUnitissetupandcongured.TheI/OSetupsettingsallow
youtodenewhichinformationisimportedbytheProcessorUnit.Foreachport,
youcansetupthecommunicationparameters,andmonitorthedataow.
–MotionReferenceUnit
Amotionreferenceunit(MRU)measuresthevessel’spitchandrollmovements
inthesea.Dependingonmakeandtype,somesensorswillalsomeasureheave.
TheinformationprovidedbythemotionsensorisusedbytheSU90tostabilize
thebeamsandtheechopresentation.
–InstallationParameters
TheInstallationParameterspagesallowyoutodenetherelationshipbetweenthe
physicallocationsofthevarioussensorsandtheSU90transducer.Allrelevant
systemunitsandsensorsmustbedenedwiththeirphysicaloffsetvaluesin
relationtothedenedShipOrigininthevessel’scoordinatesystem.Youwillonly
needtodenetheseinstallationparametersonce.
