Keeping the Printer in Idle Mode
Betweenprintingjobs,theObjet260printercanbeleftunusedforuptoone
week.Iftheprinterwillnotbeusedformorethanaweek,usetheShutdown
wizardtoautomaticallyperformtheproceduresthatmustbedonebefore
turningofftheprinter(see"ShuttingDownthePrinter"onthenextpage,
below).
Whentheprinterstopsproducingmodels,theprintersoftwareautomatically
reducesthetemperatureoftheprintheadsasfollows:
After printing stops Mode Change in heating of print heads
first15minutes Standby1 nochange
next10hours Standby2 heatingreduced(toroomtemp.)
afterStandby2 Idle heatingstopped
Note: Theprintermodeisindicatedinthegreenfieldontheleftoftheinterface
(seeFigure6-3,andFigure6-5onpages6-4,and6-9).
If,afterprintingajob,youknowthattheprinterwillnotbeusedfor10hours
ormore,youcanimmediatelyturnofftheheatingoftheprintheadsby
puttingtheprinterintoIdlemode.
ToputtheprinterintoIdlemode:
➢ FromtheFilemenu(intheprinterinterface)clickExit.
Note: TheprinterremainsinIdlemodeuntilyouopentheObjet260printer
applicationandbeginprintingagain.
WhentheprinterisinIdlemode,donotturnitoff.Itcanremaininthis
mode—withthecoverclosed—foruptoaweek.Forlongerperiods,shut
downtheprinterbyrunningtheShutdownwizard(seebelow).
