Removing Models After Printing
Afterprintingmodels,youshouldallowthemtocoolasmuchaspossible
beforehandlingthem.Ifadditionalmodelsdonothavetobeproducedonthe
printer,itisbesttolettheprintedmodelscoolintheprinter,withthecover
closed,aslongaspossible.
Iftheprintermustbeusedtoproduceadditionalmodelsassoonaspossible:
1. Lettheprintedmodelscoolonthebuildtrayforatleast10minutes.
2. Verycarefully,removethemodelsfromthetraywithascraperorspatula
(suppliedinthetoolkit),takingcarenottopryorbendthemodel.
Warning:
Wearprotectivegloveswhenhandlingprintedmodelsbeforetheyare
washed.
3. Placethemodelsonaflatsurface,andcoverthemwithacardboardbox
orpaperhood.
Thisallowsthemodelstocoolslowlyandevenly.
4. Letthemodelscoolforseveralhours.
Removing the Support Material
Afterprintedmodelshavecooled,thesupportmaterialmustberemoved.This
canbedonebydifferentmethods,dependingonthetypeofsupportmaterial,
thesizeofthemodel,howdelicateitis,theamountandlocationofthe
supportmaterial,andotherfactors.Usethefollowingmethodsasaguide,and
adaptthem(oracombinationofthem)forfinishingthemodelsyouare
handling.
Therearetwotypesofsupportmaterialavailable:
•SUP705(FullCure705),agel-likesupportmaterial.
•SUP706,aneasilyremovedsupportmaterialthatdissolvesinasolutionof
causticsodaandsodiummetasilicate.
SUP705(FullCure705)andSUP706canberemovedfromprintedmodels
usingthefollowingmethods,inthisorder:
1. byhand
2. waterpressure(inasuitablecleaningunit)
3. SUP705:1%causticsodasolution(recommendedforasmoothfinish)
SUP706:2%causticsodaandsodiummetasilicatesolution

Hand
Whilewearingprotectivegloves,breakawayexcesssupportmaterialonthe
outsideofthemodel.Fordelicatemodels,useatoothpick,pinorsmallbrush
afterdippingthemodelinwater.
