Aheat-sensitivelabelisfixedtotheUVlampcoversasawarningagainst
overheating.Itscenterchangesfromwhitetoblackifthetemperatureofthe
coverreaches65°C(150°F).Ifthisoccurs,donotusetheprinter,andcall
yourserviceprovider.Asaprecaution,itisrecommendedthatyoucheckthe
labelbeforeandafterprinting.

IftheUVlampcontinuestooverheat,andthetemperaturearoundthe
lampreaches90°C(194°F),aheatfuseturnsofftheelectricitytothe
powertotheUVlampandthemotorsfortheX,Y,andZaxes.Inthe
unlikelyeventthatthisoccurs,theprintercannotbeuseduntilitisserviced
byanauthorizedserviceengineer.
Cleaning the
Print Heads
and the Roller
Periodicinspectionandcleaningoftheorificeplatesonthebottomofthe
printblockensuresthattheprintnozzlesarenotclogged.Awizardguides
youthroughtheprocedure,andadjustscomponentsoftheprintertoenable
youtoperformit.Thisproceduretakesabout20minutes,andshouldbedone
atthebeginningoftheworkdayorbeforeabigprintingjob.
Tocleantheprintheadsandtheroller:
1. Prepare—
❒ isopropanol(IPA—isopropylalcohol)orethanol(ethylalcohol)
❒ disposablecleaninggloves
❒ asuppliedcleaningclothorequivalent
❒ amirror
2. StarttheHeadCleaningwizardfromtheOptionsmenu(seeFigure6-28
onpage6-29).
