First Aid for Working with Printing Materials
Ingeneral,trytoavoiddirectcontactwithuncuredprintingmaterial.Ifskin
oreyescomeintocontactwithit,washtheareaimmediatelyandthoroughly
withwater,andfollowthesefirst-aidinstructions.
TheMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS)thataccompaniesprinting
materialscontainsimportantsafetyinformation.Keepthisinanaccessible
placewherethesematerialsareusedandstored.
Contact with
Skin
Ifuncuredprintingmaterialcomesincontactwithskin,washtheaffected
areaimmediatelyandthoroughlywithsoapandcoolwater,thenremove
contaminatedclothing.Payparticularattentiontoflushingthehair,ears,
noseandotherpartsofthebodythatarenoteasilycleaned.
➢ Usecoolwatertopreventskinporesfromopening,sothattheliquid
materialdoesnoteasilypenetratetheskin.
➢ Donotusesolventstocleanskin.
➢ Iflargeareasofskinhavebeenexposed,orifprolongedcontactresultsin
blisters,seekmedicalattention.Inanycase,ifirritationpersists,seek
medicalattention.
➢ Avoidtheaccidentaltransferofprintingmaterialfromthehandstoother
areasofthebody,especiallytotheeyes.
➢ Ifprotectivecreamwasused,donotreapplyituntiltheskinhasbeen
completelycleansed.
Contact with
Eyes
Ifuncuredprintingmaterialcomesincontactwiththeeyes,flush
immediatelywithlargeamountsofwaterfor15minutesandseekmedical
attention.
➢ Avoidsunlight,fluorescentlight,andothersourcesofultravioletradiation.
Wearingcontactlenseswhenhandlingliquidprintingmaterialsisnot
recommended.Iftheliquidsplashesintotheeyeswhencontactlensesare
worn,immediatelyremovethelensesandflushtheeyeswithwater.
➢ Cleananddisinfectthecontaminatedlenses.
➢ Donotwearcontactlensesuntileyeirritationdisappears.
Ingestion
Ifprintingmaterialisswallowed,refertotheinstructionsincludedwiththe
cartridge.Seek medical attention immediately.
