TILT AID SYSTEM
The DF40QH/50QH models are equipped with a tilt aid cylin-
der assembly located between the PORT and STBD clamp
brackets.
This mechanism helps decrease the manual effort required
to tilt the motor. The nitrogen gas sealed in the cylinder ex-
pands as the cylinder rod extends, thereby assisting the
manual tilting process.

This unit contains high pressure gas and it must not
be disassembled, punctured, incinerated or exposed
to heat.
REMOVAL
Tilt engine fully up and lower the manual tilt lock levers 1.

During the following procedure, firmly secure the
engine and support its weight. (see right)
Remove the snap ring 2 and push tilt cylinder upper shaft
pin 3 out.
