14-12 FRONT AND REAR BRAKES
• Remove the diaphragm.
• Remove the dust seal boot

• Remove the snap ring
2 with snap ring pliers.
• Remove the washer
3, piston 4 and spring 5.

REAR MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL AND
DISASSEMBLY
• Drain brake fluid. ($14-4)
• Place a rag under the hose to catch spilled brake fluid.
• Remove the brake hose union bolt.
• Remove the master cylinder mounting bolts.
• Remove the master cylinder cap.
• Remove the diaphragm.
• Remove the dust seal boot

• Remove the snap ring
2 with snap ring pliers.
• Remove the push rod
3.
• Remove the piston/cup set
4.

MASTER CYLINDER INSPECTION
• Inspect the cylinder bore and piston for scuffing.
• Inspect the piston rod and spring for damage.
