8-4 TRANSMISSION AND CRANKSHAFT
REMOVAL
• Dismount the engine. (!3-2)
• Remove the cylinder and piston. (!4-3, 4)
• Remove the crankcase cover and clutch. (!5-3)
• Remove the kick starter system. (!6-3)
• Remove the exhaust valve governor assembly. (!11-8)
• Remove the magneto cover. (!7-3)
GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
• Remove the gearshift pedal, sprocket cover and sprocket

" 09900-06107: Snap ring pliers
• Remove the gearshift shaft
2 and washer.
• Remove the retainer
3 and gearshift cam driven gear
4.
NOTE:
Be careful not to drop the pins and springs when removing the
gearshift cam driven gear.
• Remove the bolt and gearshift cam plate
5.
• Remove the gearshift cam stopper bolt
6, stopper
7, spring
and washer.
• Remove the gearshift arm stopper bolt
8.
PRIMARY DRIVE GEAR
• While holding the magneto rotor with the special tool, remove
the primary drive gear bolt

" 09930-40113: Rotor holder
• Remove the magneto rotor and stator. (!7-3)
• Remove the clutch release camshaft. (!5-4)
