THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
INSPECTION
• Disconnect the throttle position sensor coupler.
• Start the engine.
• Measure the throttle position sensor input voltage with the
Multi circuit tester.

$ Tester knob indication: Voltage (%)
" Orange/White (
+ probe) – Black/White (
- probe):
4 – 6 V (Over 3 000 rpm)
• If the voltage is not within the specified value, replace the CDI
unit.
• Measure the throttle position sensor coil resistance with the
Multi circuit tester.

• If the resistance is correct, it is not necessary to remove the
throttle position sensor.
• If the resistance is not within the specified value, replace the
throttle position sensor assembly.
