Identify the position of
each
removed part. Organize
the parts in their respective groups (i.e. intake or
exhaust)
so that they can be installed in their original
positions.
•
Remove
the rocker arm shaft set bolts and pull out the rocker
arm shafts.

Check the gasket surface
of
the cylinder
head
cover for distor-
tion
using
a
straightedge and thickness gauge. Take clearance
readings at several places.
If
any reading exceeds the service
limit,
replace the cylinder
head
cover
with
a
new one.

Limit: 0.05 mm (0.002 in)

Measure
the rocker arm shaft diameter at three different loca-
tions.
If
the outside diameter
is
not
within
the
specification,
replace the rocker arm shaft
with
a
new one.
