The Status Screens
The status of each line is shown here. Press the Status button and then using the 5 & 6
buttons to cycle through the available screens based on the physical slot location of the line.
The system tries to initialize all Telco channels upon bootup. For POTS lines it looks for loop
current and if this is detected the line will go to Ready. ISDN lines requiring SPIDS will
display Wait until the SPIDs have been successfully registered with the CO switch. Note that
you will get a false Ready indication if no SPIDs are entered on a line that requires them.
Likewise, you will get Wait if SPIDs are entered and the Telco is set to AT&T Cust. Since the
AT&T Custom PTP (Point-to-Point) protocol does not use SPIDs. For NT1 status you must
observe the state of the Green LED next to each U interface jack.
Available line status messages are:
Deactivated No line connected, or connected to wrong jack on the TWOx12. OR,
ETS 300 permits the Telco to put a line to sleep. Deactivated will be
displayed when this occurs. OR system is currently testing for the
presence of a POTS line (i.e. looking for loop current)
Wait SPID has been sent to network (DMS Cust. And Natl I-1 only).
Network has not approved SPID (SPID is incorrect).
Ready The unit sees a live ISDN S interface (ie external NT1 is present or
internal NT1 has completed startup). OR loop current has been
detected on a POTS line and the line has been declared “in service”
by the system.
Pending Seize Outgoing call in process; Request for call has been sent to Telco
switch. OR outgoing POTS call is pending – system if “off-hook” and
waiting for loop current.
Seized Outgoing call in process; Telco switch has acknowledged the call
request. OR Loop current has been detected on a POTS line after
going “off-hook”.
Call Proceeding Outgoing call in process; Telco switch waiting for routing info from
network.
Outgoing Ring Outgoing call in process; far end has generated a call alert signal
Disconnecting Request to disconnect has been made. Awaiting acknowledgment.
OR POTS interface has gone “on-hook” and system is waiting for
loop current to cease.
Incoming Ring An incoming call request has been detected and is being processed.
Accepting Call TWOx12 has accepted an incoming call and is waiting for the Telco
switch to connect it. OR incoming POTS call is pending – system is
”off-hook” waiting for loop current.
