IMPORTANT!
You will probably receive large number of calls on this system. If your PBX has a PRI
or T- 1 coming from the phone company which will be shared for business
operations, it mayed to be programmed to reserve some capacity for those calls. One
option would be to have the Telco provision (configure) the PRI or T- 1 into separate
trunk groups for the Business and On- air telephone systems.
You should discuss this with both your local telephone service provider and your PBX
provider. It is also important that you inform the Telco that this will be a high
volume application so they can be sure that your contests will not interfere with 911
and other emergency services.
The final option shown offers redundancy. Having at least one line directly from the phone
company keeps your TWOx12 up and running even if one of the two routes is down due to
a bad line.
The next section discusses using the ISDN version of the TWOx12. Skip to section
2.5.3 if you are using analog phone lines.
2.5.1 Connecting the Telos TWOx12 to ISDN
(If you ordered an analog TWOx12 see section 2.5.3)
The TWOx12 uses internal plug-in modules to attach to ISDN. These ISDN modules have
two modular jacks accessible through each rear slot, in slots A, B, & C. The type of jack
will be either a 6 position “RJ-11” style or an 8 position “RJ-45” style depending upon
whether it is the version for USA & Canada or the rest of the world.

IMPORTANT TIP!
All ISDN BRI Circuits must use the same protocol (Telco setting). If you are using the
“Mixed Configuration” option, be sure to check what protocols your Telco offers and check
to see that your PBX supports one of the same protocols. Note that National ISDN- 1 is the
most common protocol In the USA & Canada and is available on most ISDN capable
switches in those countries, while ETS 300 is the most popular protocol worldwide.
