2.9.4 Ethernet Remote Control
Ethernet 10Base-T connector for connection to an Ethernet Local Area Network. This
allows the TWOx12 to communicate directly to Telos Assistant Producer 2.0 clients
running on your network. The TWOx12 need not be connected to a host computer running
server software as required with older Telos Telephone Interface products (in fact Telserv
is not required). In addition, the system can be controlled using a Telnet connection using
this port. Section 7.4.1 has a list of commands which can be sent over the RS-232 or
Ethernet port to control the system.
w
IMPORTANT TIP!
Assistant Producer version 2.0 or later is required for use with the TWOx12.
If you will be using call screen software we recommend that a separate LAN be used
exclusively for the Talk Show System. This will avoid sluggish responses caused by large
amounts of other network traffic.
This port is also used for software upgrades over the Internet. For details see section 7.3.3.
This is an industry standard 10Base-T Ethernet connector on the usual 8 pin miniature
modular (RJ-45 style) jack.
