1.1 Manual Conventions
In the manual, the following conventions are used:
Indicates a matter of note - if it refers to a sequence of operations, failure to follow the
instructions may result in measurement errors.
Indicates hazards. There is a risk of equipment damage or personal injury or death.
Carefully read and follow the instructions. Be sure to follow any safety instructions
given in addition to those for the site at which tests are being performed.
• Text in boldface is used for buttons, device ports and connectors, table headings as well as subtitles in
continuous text.
• Text in italics is used for menu items, chapter references and notes.
• Underlined text is used for emphasis.
1.2 Abbreviations and Definitions
Wherever possible the corresponding IEC definitions are used. The following abbreviations and definitions are
used in this manual:
