1.3 About Options
In order to enhance the functions of the MFP, various options have been prepared. There are two types
of options, paper handling options and system options. Major options and their functions are shown as
below.
* Care must be taken regarding the options with the software license function and the necessary
precautions are explained in another section. P. 5-6 “5.4 Addition of Functions”
Remarks:
The configuration of the options differs depending on the models.
Option names Explanations
Paper handling options
Dual Scan Document Feeder This option separates the original sheets, slightly slides
them and then transports them one by one to the
scanning position of the MFP. A scanner for scanning
the back side of the original is embedded. Due to this,
both the front and back sides of the original can be
scanned at the same time in one original feeding.
Reversing Automatic Document Feeder This option separates the original sheets, slightly slides
them and then transports them one by one to the
scanning position of the MFP. The front side of the
original is scanned at the scanning position. Then the
original is reversed to have its back side scanned.
Paper Feed Pedestal Up to two further drawers can be installed. Paper with
different sizes can be placed in each drawer of this
option.
Large Capacity Feeder This option enables the placing of a large amount of
paper.
Finisher This option exits printed or copied sheets of paper
having sorted and stapled them.
Saddle Stitch Finisher This is an option with the paper folding function and the
center stitching of the folded paper function embedded
into the above Finisher. The center stitching is called
“saddle stitch”.
