3.3.3 Precautions when replacing the PC boards
When replacing the PC boards, be sure to follow the precautions below.
Turn the power OFF and unplug the power cable.
After the power cable is unplugged, an electric charge may remain in boards. Therefore, leave the
MFP unused for the specified period after the power cable is unplugged. For details of the specified
period, refer to the Service Manual for each model.
Hold the edge of the PC board while dealing with it. Do not directly touch the electrical parts
mounted on the PC board. (Some parts are easily damaged due to static electricity.)
Hold the case if it is integrated with a PC board.
Data are stored in each PC board and a memory (SRAM, EEPROM). Therefore, pay full attention
when handling those parts.
Do not replace more than two PC boards together.
Details about further necessary precautions and procedures are described in the Service Manual for
each model. Therefore, be sure to refer to the Service Manual before starting the operation.
