2.6.2 Power supply mechanism
The MFP is equipped the main power switch and the [ON/OFF] button. The main power switch is a
hardware switch and is located on the MFP. The [ON/OFF] button is located on the control panel.
Fig. 2-40
The configuration of the power supply switch differs depending on the models: both are available for
some models, but there is only the [ON/OFF] button for others. Moreover, the operation specification of
the power supply differs for each model.
* Otherwise, the entire power supply is closed, which may cause damage to any HDD or SDD under
operation. Be sure to shut down the MFP by means of the [ON/OFF] button before pressing the
main power switch to turn off the MFP.

and the [ON/OFF] button available *

Main power switch
When this switch is turned on, the power
is supplied to the entire MFP, which is
thus booted.
When this switch is turned off, the power
supply completely is closed. However,
for an MFP with a damp heater installed,
power is still being supplied to the damp
heater even when the main power switch
is turned off.
-
[ON/OFF] button
When this button is pressed while the
main power switch is turned on, power is
supplied to the entire MFP, which is thus
booted. When this button is pressed, the
MFP is shut down.
When this operation is carried out, the
stop process is performed and the power
supply is completely closed, except for
the circuits for monitoring the [ON/OFF]
button. In this state, only the MAIN
POWER lamp is on.
Once the power cable is connected,
power is supplied to the circuits for
monitoring the [ON/OFF] button.
Then when this button is pressed, the
power is supplied to the entire MFP,
which is thus booted.
