4. PRECAUTIONS REGARDING MAINTENANCE
4.1 General Precautions
As regards safety precautions, as well as unplugging the power cable, paying attention to the following
items is required. For more detailed information about the precautions, refer to the Service Manual for
each model to carry out the maintenance.
• In the Service Manuals, the procedures only for disassembling are described. Therefore,
assembling should be carried out in the reverse order of the disassembly. Necessary precautions for
the assembly are given as “Notes”.
• Updating of the firmware is necessary after replacing the PC boards.
• Care must be taken of replacement parts. Be sure to follow the instructions in the Service Manual.
• Depending on the parts, adjustment is required while they are being installed or after they are
installed.
• Be sure to follow the precautions below such as screwing, fan installation and harness wiring during
assembling.
1. Screws
Screws are mainly used for tightening parts. Various types and sizes of screws are used.
Therefore, care must be taken to install them correctly when the removed ones are
reattached.
If longer screws have been used mistakenly as shown in the figure, their tip may cause
damage to the inside of the part. Therefore, be sure to use the correct screws.
Fig. 4-1
Screws whose color is red are secured after they have been adjusted by jigs at the time of
factory shipment. Therefore, do not loosen or remove those screws. For other screws for
which care must be taken, follow the instructions, which are given in the Service Manual.
2. Connectors
Connectors must be disconnected or connected in the correct manner. Otherwise, they
may be damaged or become a cause of a connection failure.
Especially, the connectors of a flat cable are easily damaged. Therefore, definitely check
the instructions in the Service Manual.
