2.3.7 Transferring
[ 1 ] Transfer system
There are various transfer systems for MFPs. The direct transfer system (Fig. A) and indirect transfer
system (Fig. B) have been adopted for MFPs of Toshiba Tec Corporation.

[2] Developer unit (Y: Yellow, M: Magenta, C: Cyan, K: Black)
[3] Transfer roller
[4] Paper
[5] 1st transfer roller
[6] 2nd transfer roller
[7] Transfer belt
[ 1-1 ] Direct transfer system
This system has mainly been adopted for black-and-white models. Images on the photoconductive
drum are directly transferred onto the paper by the transfer roller.
[ 1-2 ] Indirect transfer system
This system has mainly been adopted for color models. Images on the photoconductive drum are
transferred onto the transfer belt by overlaying images with 4 colors (1st transfer) and then those
formed images are transferred onto the paper (2nd transfer).
