3.4 Adjustment
3.4.1 Purposes
To maintain the MFP in an appropriate condition
To comply with users’ requirements
3.4.2 Implementation timing
Perform the adjustment in the following cases.
When parts and units are replaced
When parts and units that need to be adjusted are removed
When some trouble has occurred
When consumables are replaced
When a request from a user has been received
3.4.3 Type
There are two types of adjustments: one is for the hardware which involves the positioning of part
change, while the other is for the software which makes setting changes of self-diagnostic codes and
printer drivers.
[ 1 ] Adjustment for the hardware
Almost all adjustments are performed by moving parts according to a scale. Adjustment has been
applied to those parts at the time of factory shipment. Therefore, before performing the adjustment,
take a memo of the position at that time.
