3.4 Adjustment
3.4.1 Purposes
• To maintain the MFP in an appropriate condition
• To comply with users’ requirements
3.4.2 Implementation timing
Perform the adjustment in the following cases.
• When parts and units are replaced
• When parts and units that need to be adjusted are removed
• When some trouble has occurred
• When consumables are replaced
• When a request from a user has been received
3.4.3 Type
There are two types of adjustments: one is for the hardware which involves the positioning of part
change, while the other is for the software which makes setting changes of self-diagnostic codes and
printer drivers.
[ 1 ] Adjustment for the hardware
Almost all adjustments are performed by moving parts according to a scale. Adjustment has been
applied to those parts at the time of factory shipment. Therefore, before performing the adjustment,
take a memo of the position at that time.
