3.5.3 Firmware type
The firmware is stored in an IC or memory on each PC board. The major types and storing destinations
of the firmware vary depending on the models. Refer to the Service Manual for each model.
The following firmware is included in the firmware package for updating.
3.5.4 USB storage device
Be sure to use a USB storage device which meets the use conditions. For more details, refer to the
Service Manual for each model.
3.5.5 Folder configuration
Be sure to follow the rules regarding the folder configuration and folder name when the firmware is
stored in a USB storage device.
Store the firmware in the model specific folder. For details about the model specific folder, refer to
the Service Manual for each model.
Do not change the model specific folder name, since it is used for identifying the model of the data
file.
3.5.6 Precautions for firmware updating
Downgrading is not recommended since a malfunction may occur.
After the firmware updating has been finished, confirm that the updating was performed
successfully.
(The history of the firmware updating can be confirmed with an update log.)
When the replacing of the PC boards is performed, be sure to update the version of the firmware to
the latest one.
