[ 2 ] Overview of the color process
In the color MFPs of Toshiba Tec Corporation, 4 EPUs (integrated unit with the photoconductive drum,
developer unit and main charger), which cope with yellow, magenta, cyan and black, are deployed in
parallel. Development is carried out in the order of yellow, magenta, cyan and black.
The toner on the photoconductive drum is transferred onto the transfer belt by the 1st transfer roller.
This process is called “1st transfer”.
Visible images with each color (Y, M, C, K) are transferred onto the transfer belt to form color images.
The images on the transfer belt are transferred onto the paper by the 2nd transfer roller. This process is
called “2nd transfer”.
