18) Mount the axis 3 motor and timing belt. For the mounting procedures, see
Para. 2.5.7 and Para. 2.6.3 above.
19) Arrange the connectors and cables as originally set.
20) Perform home setting for the axes 3 and 4.
21) Carry out a test operation of the axes 3 and 4 and make sure that the belt
tension is appropriate.
22) Attach the arm 2 cover. Now replacement of the axis 4 timing belt completes.
2.6.5 Adjusting Timing Belt
Perform inspection and adjustment of each timing belt semi-annually (every six (6)
months).
1) Remove the arm 2 cover. (See Para. 2.4.1.)
2) If the belt is loosened heavily, adjust its tension, referring the following table.
Note that the value of tension at replacement of timing belt (i.e., when mounting
a new timing belt) differs from the value of tension at adjustment. (The values
other than the tension remain the same.)
Axis Value of tension [N] Unit mass [g/m] Belt width [mm] Span [mm]
Axis 3 43 ~ 49 2.2 10 232
If the tension is appropriate, mount the arm 2 cover. Now the inspection
completes.
