Burner Setup—Oil E 3000
6.5 Setting the “Z” Distance
Prerequisites
Burner removed from the machine
Beckett T501 gauge
Procedure
Follow the procedure below to set the “Z” distance on F220 heads.
1. Remove the burner from the machine.
2. Loosen the knurled nut
(b).
3. Loosen the position locking screw (e).
4. Set the “Z” distance by using the T501 gauge or by measuring as follows:
Beckett T501
gauge
Using the Beckett T501 gauge.
a. Position the gauge into the flame retention head as shown.
b. Slide the nozzle assembly so that the front face of the burner nozzle touches the
T501 gauge.
c. Tighten the position locking screw.
