ontopreventoperatorinjuryfrompenetratingobjects
suchastrunksandbranches.Thecabfrontwindow
shouldalsobestrongenough(e.g.doublesafetyglass)
topreventchainshotinjuries.Thecarriershouldhave
aroll-overprotectivestructure(ROPS)topreventthe
operatorbeingcrushedshouldthemachinerollover.
Themachineoperator,supervisor,orownermustalways
checkthecabofthecarriertoensurethecabisequipped
withOPSandtheOPSisnotvisiblydamagedwhen
workinginthewoods.Hemustalsocheckandcomply
withthelocalandregionalrequirementsforoperator
protectionforforestryharvestingorfellingoperations.See

Beforestarting,inspecttheharvesterheadcarefullyeach
daybywalkingaroundit.
Keepallguardsandshieldsingoodconditionandproperly
installed.Fixdamaged,andreplacewornorbroken,parts
immediately.Inspectallhydraulichoses.
Replacemissingordamagedwarningandcautionlabels.
