1.Lowerharvesterheadtotheground.
2.Openfeedarms(2).
3.Activateupperdelimbknives(3)totheclosedposition.
4.Activatebaillock.
5.TurnofcarrierandWaratahcontroller.
CAUTION:Preventtheharvesterheadfrom
moving.Alwaysensurethatthetiltframeisinthe
harvestingorprocessingpositionandthelocking
pinisinstalled.Seriousinjuryordeathcanoccur.
6.Insertthelockingpinintheprocessingposition(5).

Fault-Finding
General
Withanyfaultnding,therststepistodecidewhere
toinvestigate.Sometimesthisisobvious,butonother
occasionsfurtherinvestigationisrequired.Alogical,
ratherthanhaphazard,approachtomakingadjustments
orreplacingparts,ismoreeffective.
Alwaystakeintoaccountanywarningsignsor
abnormalitiesthatmayhavebeennoticedintheperiod
precedingthefault(forexample,powerloss),and
remember:failureofacomponentsuchasacircuit
breaker,mayonlybeasymptomofanunderlyingfault.
Whateverthefault,certainbasicprinciplesapply.These
areasfollows:
1.Verifythefault.
Ensuresymptomsareidentiedbeforestartingwork.
Thisisparticularlyimportantwheninvestigatingafault
someoneelsehasdescribed.
2.Donotoverlooktheobvious.
Forexample,ifanelectricalfaultisindicated,check
thediagnosticindicatorsbeforealteringthewiring.
3.Curethedisease,notthesymptom.
4.Donottakeanythingforgranted.
Beawarethatnewcomponentsmaybedefective;do
notleavecomponentsoutofadiagnosissequence
justbecausetheyareneworrecentlytted.Whena
faultisdiagnosed,thekeyevidenceisoftenonhand
fromthestart.
