How to play Dolby Digital or DTS sources on Yamaha DSP-AZ2?
    • D
      Devin ReedSep 8, 2025
If you cannot play Dolby Digital or DTS sources on your Yamaha Amplifier (and the Dolby Digital or DTS indicator on the front panel display does not light up), ensure that “Digital output” and “Dolby Digital” or “DTS” are selected on the connected components by adjusting the settings according to the component's operation instructions.
  • V
    Valerie WattsSep 7, 2025
Why Yamaha Amplifier has poor bass reproduction?
    • C
      Charles JonesSep 7, 2025
If there is poor bass reproduction from your Yamaha Amplifier, and “1E LFE/BASS OUT” on the SET MENU is set to SWFR or BOTH but you don't have a subwoofer, select MAIN. Also, ensure the output mode for each speaker (main, center, rear, or rear center) on the SET MENU matches your speaker configuration, selecting the appropriate mode based on the size of your speakers.
  • T
    Timothy AndersonAug 22, 2025
Why Yamaha DSP-AZ2 fails to turn on?
    • C
      Christopher CampbellAug 22, 2025
If the Yamaha Amplifier fails to turn on or enters standby mode shortly after being powered on, ensure the power cord is firmly connected. Also, check that the IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch on the rear panel is fully set to the left or right position. Make sure all speaker wire connections are secure and not touching anything other than their respective connections. If the unit has been exposed to a strong electric shock, set it to standby, disconnect the power cord, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

    Mr. Thomas ToddSep 4, 2025
Why Yamaha DSP-AZ2 Amplifier on-screen display does not appear?
    • R
      Russell ConleySep 4, 2025
If the on-screen display does not appear on your Yamaha Amplifier, check if the on-screen display setting is set to “DISPLAY OFF”. If so, select the full display or short display mode. Also, if the GRAY BACK setting under “13 DISPLAY SET” on the SET MENU is set to OFF and there is no video signal input, set GRAY BACK to AUTO to always show the OSD.

What to do if Yamaha DSP-AZ2 Amplifier sound suddenly goes off?
    • R
      rallenAug 31, 2025
If the sound from your Yamaha Amplifier suddenly goes off, it could be due to the protection circuit being activated by a short circuit. Check that the IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch is in the correct position. Also, verify that the speaker wires are not touching each other. If the sleep timer is activated, turn the power back on and replay the source. Finally, ensure the sound is not muted by pressing the MUTE button.

    • S
      steven35Aug 30, 2025
If there is no sound and/or picture from your Yamaha Amplifier, first, ensure that all input and output cables are correctly connected. If the issue persists, the cables might be defective. Verify that you've selected the correct input source using the INPUT or 6CH INPUT buttons. Check that the speaker connections are secure and that the correct main speakers are selected with SPEAKERS A and/or B. Also, make sure the volume isn't turned down or muted by pressing the MUTE button. Ensure you are playing a source that the unit can reproduce and that video connections use the same type of jack for both input and output.

Why Yamaha DSP-AZ2 Amplifier rear center speaker has no sound?
    • M
      Mary ChaneyAug 29, 2025
If there is no sound from the rear center speaker of your Yamaha Amplifier, and “1C REAR L/R SP” on the SET MENU is set to NONE, the speaker mode for the rear center speaker will automatically be set to NONE. Select the appropriate speaker mode for the rear L/R speakers. Also, ensure that “1D REAR CT SP” on the SET MENU is set to LRG or SML.
