Preliminary Tests (Optional)
Test Foveal Threshold (Models 840, 850, and 860)
This option is only available for Threshold testing. Go to Test Parameters and make sure the Foveal
Threshold setting is set to On. The Foveal Threshold Test measures the sensitivity of the central part
of the macula, the fovea.
1.
The Foveal Threshold dialog box should be automatically
expanded on the screen. If it is closed, expand the box by
tou
ching it to reveal patient instructions.
2. Instruct the patient to look at the center of the lower
diamond of fixation lights and pr
ess the response button
whenever they see a light inside of the diamond.
3. Select Star
t Foveal Threshold. When Foveal Threshold is
complete, the decibel (db) result displays on the top line and
an audible signal will occur.
4. Select Ski
p Foveal Threshold to proceed with the test
without a Foveal Threshold.
5. Select Cancel
to access several options:
• Cancel Current Eye Test and Test Next Eye (results are not
save
d).
• Cancel Entire Test (results are not saved).
• Return to Current Eye Test.
6. Select Res
tart in the Foveal Threshold box to restart test.
Note: The only way to pause the Foveal Threshold test is by pressing and holding the patient
response button. To resume the test,
release the patient response button.
