The Display Language section contains two parameters, Select and Edit.
Table 153 System Block Miscellaneous Parameters.
The language in which all messages appear on the display is selected by setting
the parameter Select.
Edit
The Edit parameter allows you to edit all text strings in the selected language.
When this parameter is selected and you press the OK key, the second line of the
display shows an editable text string. For example:
Figure 64 Using the Edit Parameter.
In the example above, the string “Process Value” is being edited. The second line
shows the current setting of the string, while the third line shows the edited
version. The dark background of the letter “P” on the third line indicates that this
is the letter whose value will change when you press the Up/Down keys. To edit
the next character, press the Next key.
Warning – User Edited Text: As the you press the Up/Down keys to browse the
vocabulary, you can choose to edit any string. The edited texts are stored as a
fourth language and retained in permanent storage during power loss, but can not
be selected via the Select parameter. Once you have selected a language from the
Select list, the edited texts are lost!
