Naming Blocks
You can give many of the blocks and parameters which you configure a twenty
character name of your own choice. To use this feature proceed as follows:
1 Select the option Identity. All names have a default setting.
2 Select the character to change by pressing the Next key. The currently
selected character is shown in reversed text.
3 Press the Up/Down keys to select the displayed character.
4 Repeat steps 2 to 3 until the full name has been edited.
5 Confirm the completed name by pressing the OK key.
Internal Connections
Types
Internal connections are divided into two different categories:
Fixed Connections
Free Connections
Fixed Connections are preset at the factory and are not changeable by the user.
The Fixed Connections are shown with thick lines on the Configuration Work
Sheet (Appendix D).
The Free Connections may have default settings from the factory, but the user can
always change them.
Making Connections
When connecting inputs and outputs, the inputs are always assigned an output. In
the transfer of a value from an output to an input, the input takes the initiative. In
other terms, the input requests a value from the output it is connected to.
The information about the connections are thus stored in the inputs. When making
a connection, the following happens:
1 The system locates all available blocks (blocks that are not switched OFF).
2 The system locates all valid outputs of these blocks (to an analog input, only
analog outputs are valid) and marks them as available.
