4. Disconnect the tube fitting from the connection on the waste bottle.
Remove and empty the bottle.
5. Remove the primary tube carousel and the osmometer turntable from
their spindles. Package them with the other accessories to be
returned with the instrument.
CAUTION The waste bottle contains biohazard material. Use proper
safety precautions, and follow established procedures to
dispose of the material properly.
6. Tape or tie a small plastic bag over the ends of the system fluid and
waste bottle tubes.
7. Using the touchscreen or keypad, navigate to the Positions screen
(Figure 33) and move the pipettor to the primary tube position.
• In the Position: field, select Primary Tube from the drop-down
list. Press the Move button adjacent to the selection.
• In the Jog Distance: field, select 1.00 from the drop-down list.
Press ▼ (down arrow) on the keypad three times.
• In the Jog Distance: field, select 0.10 from the drop-down list.
Press ▼ (down arrow) on the keypad two times.
• Press the Close button repeatedly until the Main screen is dis-
played.
Using a screwdriver, install the red shipping stop to secure the
pipettor assembly to the main structure (Figure 1).
8. Using a screwdriver, remove the three screws securing the vertical
liner over the osmometer module. Loosen the captive screws secur-
ing the red shipping stop from the right side of the the osmometer
module. Install the shipping stop to restrain the sample probe and the
cooling well (see Figure 2). Tighten the shipping stop screws
securely. Position the vertical liner over the osmometer module and
install the three screws.
9. Remove all spilled liquid, debris or loose items from within the work
area.
