Remove the cap from the system fluid bottle and insert the tubing
into a container of the cleaning solution.
Prime the syringe and allow the solution to remain in the fluid
path for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the system fluid cap tubing from the
cleaning solution and wipe any cleaning solution from the outside
of the tubing.
Insert the system fluid cap tubing into the system fluid bottle and
tighten the cap.
Prime the system a minimum of 2 cycles using A
2
O System Fluid
(part no. 200222).
2. Sample Cooling Well
If cleaning is necessary, use isopropyl alcohol and a swab (part no.
202850) to remove any sample residue or condensation.
3. Waste Container
The waste container should be cleaned at least once a week to prevent
the growth of microorganisms. A 1% sodium hypochlorite solution
can be used as a cleaning agent.
Note: The waste container is autoclavable. Replace the biohazard
label on the bottle with a similar warning should the label
come loose during autoclaving.
4. Wash Station and Waste Fluid Lines
Obtain the following materials:
Plastic syringe (10mL minimum volume)
1/8-inch (3 mm) plastic tubing (silicone or Tygon)
1%
sodium hypochlorite
Remove the cap from the waste bottle, making sure to leave it con-
nected to the waste tubing.
Depress the plunger on the plastic syringe fully.
Connect one end of the plastic tubing to the plastic syringe, and
the other end to the fitting on the underside of the waste bottle cap
(Figure 46).
