• If the pipettor, the primary carousel, or the osmometer turntable is in
motion, all motion will stop immediately.
• If the osmometer module is currently testing a sample, the testing
will continue. At the completion of the test, the probe will raise up
out of the sample tube, and the turntable will rotate to permit the
probe to be cleaned using the wiper ring.
CAUTION Do not remove the osmometer module turntable immedi-
ately after pressing the Stop button. Sample testing may
still be in progress even though all mechanical motion
stopped when the Stop button was pressed. Attempting to
remove the turntable while testing is still in progress could
damage the sample probe. Wait until testing is complete
and the sample probe has been cleaned by the wiper ring
before removing the turntable.
• Under certain conditions, the pipettor will move to the cleaning sta-
tion and complete a cleaning cycle.
After the Stop button is pressed, if any primary tube still needs to be
tested, you must restart the test sequence.
NOTE If an emergency stop of all instrument operations is required,
place the power switch in the OFF position.
Start button
The Start button initiates a batch test. Depending on how the test is
configured, a scan of the primary carousel occurs first. If all barcodes
are read properly, the run will start without operator intervention. In
other cases, message screens inform the operator of missing information
or other problems. Missing sample IDs may be entered via a text input
screen.
STAT button
The STAT button initiates a test from a single primary tube. The system
will scan the primary carousel until an empty position is found. If there
is no empty position, a tube will need to be replaced. A message screen
will inform the operator as to which position to use. Push the Ready
